Hi Bachido no sensei. Is there a tip to give back a little cleanliness to the dog skin without hurting it, or is it totally useless ? And as the bachigawa is the dirtiest place, is it possible to replace it regularly without damaging the skin (I’m talking about nagauta or jiuta bachigawa) ? Thanks and sorry if that has already been discussed.
Hi Patrick! I’m not sure if this has been discussed. It’s actually fine to get a damp towel (wrung out really tightly) and briskly rub it over the skin to clean the dirty parts. A tiny bit of water isn’t enough to damage the skin (I was told this by someone who does the skinning process)
Of course, it’s something that should not be done regularly, and you have to be very careful over the glued rim (because the glue is water soluble), but a little bit will be fine. Afterwards, I think wiping the skin with a dry cloth after practice will help keep the skin clean. The dry rag will prevent the dirt from building up.
Thank you Kyle, you show once more your generosity in sharing your knowledge.
