All Bachido members!!! New Improvs! Please post your video here!

During a short rest in the middle of our February workshop tour, Takahashi san and I managed to get some time to record a bit! First order of business was to make another contribution to Kevin’s improv thread on the Bachido Forum! ()

So away we went with Sado Okesa, Aizu Ban Daisan and a long improvised adventure in between!

Peace!

Great!
I had an image of you guys playing this outdoors somewhere ,for example in a Forrest or wooded area and being a lone traveler passing through. How enchanting it would be to hear you guys playing like this from a distance and then closer and closer upon approach.

Ladies & Gents…

Sorry to keep you waiting.
This is the ** “Mike Penny’s Superb Improvisation!!”** (live in LA)

Kyle and I met Mike at the Bachido Workshop on February 8.
I had the honour of performing with two of Monsters of Shamisen at the same time. It is too much to ask for more!

I am sure that everyone is dying to see Mike’s Shamisen solo. Yes, me too!

Without further ado… here’s Mike Penny:

My “Tanto Bushi” is just an extra…
Thank you,
aki

I use the hosozao and chuzao shamisen (and sometimes Sanshin) among guitar and electronics mainly for free improvisation (and sometimes contemporary composed music).
This is from May last year.

And this is an excerpt from my Israel improv-duo tour in october last year, recorded in the negev desert.

Awesome, Joshua!! I love the combination of the flute/shamisen in that scale. Very nice!

By the way, there’s a chance I’ll be in Berlin in December. The distance from Kassel is a bit of a way, but if it works out, it’d be really fun to meet and jam!

Kyle! you should come to Japanese matsuri in England, we would love to see bachido cover the UK. Hibiki has around 20 students~ so we kinda have a small army :stuck_out_tongue:

05 October 2014
in London
10.30am - 9pm

Loads of good food, and martial arts goodies/ pottery/ takoyaki etc etc

I’d love to, Cana! If you can find some way to cover my travel costs, I’ll be there in a heartbeat!

I will ask around to see what can be done  There might be some sort of funding with NHK world or Japan matsuri itself.

As for a roof to sleep under, I don’t think it would be a problem to stay with us. We are a £14.00 journey train wise to london. And we have around 14 instruments so you should feel at home (they are sadly not hung up like your instruments in your living room though!)

^ update to that kyle, sadly matsuri is made up of volunteers and so there is no funding :x

Ah, that’s a shame. That would be a lot of fun. Thanks for checking into it!

But hey, if other opportunities should arrive, you know I’m totally down!

Never know  we might find a way sooner or later~ its every year ^.^
