I know the clip for quite a while but i’ve never been that much intersted in the artist . as Karl said , it’s reminds me a lot about the mid 90’s when i was a kid , there was a lot of music that sounded like that , like buddha bar for example .
I’ve run across the name Tenbi before. This is my first time hearing her. Typically I prefer less synth driven instrumentals but Tenbi herself has a good sound. I dig that 3-against-4 rhythm she set up in her solo. And the shamisen is recorded really nicely (IMO). I’m curious to hear a live Tenbi performance now.
Where can I buy Ki&Ki’s cd?
Nice, sounds a bit better than there first CD. I actually went to one of there concerts here in Kansai and talked to them for a bit after, nice girls.
Nathan, you were there for the chitoshan thingy when they played right? Yeah! I’m sure you were there ! You’re in the Ninjari banban video! Anyway got some more cool shami- material for ya bro! See ya soon!
yeah I was there. Nice, my hands have been like " dude…wtf are you doing? Who told you to stretch me in that way? AHHH" with the stuff you given me already. But bring on more!
So interesting news on this topic.
Im actually meeting with KiKi this month to talk about their work, and possibly put together a series of videos for them~
Got a few ideas in the works, but one of the vids will probably be an interview/Q&A regarding… well… everything
Shamisen, their work, life, etc…
So if you have any questions you would like tossed in there, drop them in here and I’ll see what I can do (^-^)
Ki and Ki band are doing fund raising for their new album (hit the mark already)… here–> https://motion-gallery.net/projects/kikiband (Japanese).
The new album will be release for sale in April 2015

They only sell the second album now, but it can be bought from here --> http://kiki-teruteru.jimdo.com/cd/
I like KiKi’s approach to making new music. I think it would be interesting to hear them elaborate on what their influences are and how their process is when composing new songs. Would be great if you asked them that question Norm!
