Me & Mike Penny Kokiriko Bushi

Wow! that’s unexpected. :stuck_out_tongue:

Perhaps, we should soon assemble a list of people who can/wants to come to CA, and hold a small Bachido festival thing. As I may have said, Masahiro wants to have a Bachido festival in Hokkaido (which would be good for being able to have shamisen superstars to give workshops)

Or… Anyone wants to go to Toronto, Canada? They have a Spring Matsuri which we might be giving a shamisen workshop at (unconfirmed). If going to Canada isn’t much harder than going to California, that would be a more convinient venue, as there is other entertainment and happenin’s going on.

Hey Kyle and Grant,

I’d love to travel across the water someday to meet (and learn from!) you guys and other players.
It’s still very early for me in terms of my experience with shamisen, but this sort of dream will help me to keep on going.
I think it’s pretty awesome and very encouraging for the Bachido community.

If enough of you guys live over in the UK or nearby, I might have to come to you, lol. I’ve been across the Pacific plenty, but never over the Atlantic!

Damn… Need to get more members in finland so you could come here. But you or kyle to europe  fantasy come real

I still cannot believe that I have never seen you guys or heard the Shamisen IRL despite living in San Jose my whole life (now just during the summers). I never knew there was such a community in Norcal; I only thought it was in Socal (like I would ever go there, ha!) I mean you guys are literally right over the hill (a dangerous hill at that, but still a hill) and I’ve been over there plenty of times! sigh I tried so hard to go see the Yoshida Brothers two summers ago in SF too, but alas I couldn’t. Oh wells, I cannot wait to buy one and finally learn how to play, been one of my dreams for years! I hope to god me, the broke college student, will have the money to purchase such a thing!

That’d be awesome Grant. It’s early days yet but if enough of a community eventually develops over here then maybe, one day, we could arrange to have you and other players over to give lessons; or even hold a European tsugaru shamisen mini-convention!

Haha… wow. Since you are a student of Mike Penny that would technically make you my Grand-student! well done my children. well done!

OMG! :-o

God of Shamisen attack!
