Last post January 9th 2012? …I don’t think so buddy! Look again!
(insert evil laugh!)
Nopes Catherine. This here is a thread and the ‘share your music’ is a category and we would make a Thread called ‘The improvisation thread’ inside it.
And well played Kevin, well played…
Yeah I guess improvisation is sort of composition on-the-fly, planning one beat at a time Great stuff that it gets back into business. Man one year has gone by and that thread didn’t really explode with content like I had hoped. I guess its time to compose something, even if its short.
Ok so here is my improv. For today! Since my band here in northern Japan is covering Comfortably numb by Pink Floyd I decided to get familiar with the backing track of the solo part by Improvising along to it. I think I had some sweet ideas in there so I figured I’d share it here with my Bachido brothers and sisters!
…and yeah Karl start composing man!
Fantastico! Beautiful playing, Kevin, as always.
すばらしい!! Su ba ra shi !!! (wonderful!!). )^o^(
Sounds stage ready
Epic Kevin! Man I need to sit down and improvise together with you.
You really nailed it.
Karl, I have a new Skype account now! Maybe we can jam online sometime. I’ve done that before and it actually sorta works! It’s kinda weird but it’s totally possible to jam/improvise together despite being in different countries/timezones! It’d be epic to jam with you! We should totally do it!
Would be A to the W to the E to the SOME.
I can’t understand how it works, but I guess both parties kind of get synced so that they are at least playing with a delay that is like 1/8 from each other or something, so that it still sounds good. Maybe that type of canon was invented by some musicians with really loud instruments, playing at a long distance between two hilltops in Scotland (seems legit)
It did sound good when Kyle was playing with you, but did it sound good for you what Kyle played?
Karl, yeah it’s worked for me with both Kyle and Anne. I believe there was a very slight delay, as you say, but somehow, especially with Kyle, I was totally able to do a run through of Kita no Hibiki. Only thing that was a bummer is that I had to play somewhat quietly in order to hear him!
I guess you can try headphones?
Great playing you guys!
Well, I guess here’s the new spot for improvs.
During today’s practice, my bachi hand felt particularly supple and relaxed, so I set the camera up and hit record.
Though I’m pretty satisfied with how it turned out, it seemed even better before the camera was rolling.
Okay, next up to bat! Grant?
Sweet and gorgeous Kyle!
sweet and gorgeous playing, Kyle
yes I agree. Sweet and gorgeous PLAYING. And if I may add, though I have not yet had the honour of meeting Kyle in person I am pretty sure that he is sweet and gorgeous from that angle as well.
And incredibly single as well!
snap!
woooooow amazing Karl!! Kireiii!!
lisening now all improvs A lot of time far from here
