Hi everyone! Hmm, where to start… Shamisen is my first and only musical instrument and I can’t get enough of it. My mother in law overheard me talking about it one day and so she decided to send me her mother’s old Shamisen. Of course, being an absolutely amazing woman she had it completely refurbished and with it she sent me extra strings, wooden Bachi, an actual carrying case and everything else an aspiring Shamisen player needs. Thank you!!!
I am very new to this. But I can’t stop playing it… I live in a small city and was worried I’d have only Youtube to teach me how to play. I contacted the local Nikkei society and they put me in contact with a very extraordinary lady who is an amazing musician and a Shamisen instructor. (amongst many other instruments) And so my story begins. I am looking forward to chatting with you all, and learning how to play my new baby. (I didn’t want to call it a toy)
