Buon giorno!
This is Chiara, 36 years old. Music has always been all my life, since I was a toddler trying to find tunes by ear on a small keyboard. At 6 I started to study the piano at Conservatoire, I enjoyed it, but I thought I did it just for fun.
When I discovered the harp I was 11 and decided to become a professional musician, and I succeeded very soon.
I do not want to bother you: a profile is not a curriculum. Just to say the basic: after getting my diploma I have been a soloist and a orchestra performer, with 40/50 concerts every year (Italy, Switzerland, Austria and Russia). Recently I have done less concerts because I got a job as harp teacher in a public musical Lyceum, and I discovered I love teaching. My next aim is to teach in a Conservatoire, but it is a long-term plan.

I know the so-called “japanese harp”, koto, would sound as a more reasonable choice for me. Despite of that, during my last period in Kyoto I went to many concerts and tryed both koto and shamisen; well, I fell suddendly in love with shamisen. I am now completely ignorant about japanese music, so I just followed the instruction of a player and I improvised some very chaotic/almost nonsense tunes… I decided one day I would learn some, but I couldn’t know how. That was about 8 months ago.

Then I found Bachido! It was a great, amazing surprise! Now I can really start!
I need to play, just for myself and family and friends, a new lovely instrument that does NOT mean “work”. I never had the chance to play for fun (as you can figure out), and I think this is a great opportunity.
Besides, I am in love with japanese traditional culture (like my father), and, last but not least: it is enought light to carry on my shoulders! (Have you ever moved a 45 kilos/47 strings harp by yourself? It is a nightmare).
