FiliusMarus

Just a computer geek working abroad for a spell. I love being in Japan, and have been interested in the Shamisen for a while. I decided to finally take the plunge, and it has thus far been the first and only instrument I have truly enjoyed practicing. I suppose I will never be as mainstream as those guitar guys playing John Mayer in ice cream shops trying to impress the ladies, but in a way, that is part of the appeal. Regardless, I love the sound, celebrating a forgotten piece of my heritage, and finally feeling a bit like a musician.

Also, it only has three strings, which definitely tricked me into believing It would be easier to play.

I would also like to take this space to thank the Bachido teachers for NOT forcing me to play Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star one billion times.
