Hi all Bachido members!
I just became a member of Bachido. I live in Helsinki, Finland.
I have made three shamisens, first of them more than 20 years ago. Then I used Karin = Burma Padauk lumber (Pterocarpus macrocarpus) which I bought in Tokyo where I lived for one year visiting often shamisens shops.
Now I use African Padauk (Pterocarpus soyauxii) for the DO and Shitan = Indian rosewood (Dahlbergia latifolia) for the SAO. My shamisens are nagauta.
I was very surprised because there are so many shamisen lovers. I wish to get new ideas from all of you.
I have made one Japanese koto(-harp), too, and 2 violins.
