3D printed shamisen - model by Dysanius

I’m quite exited to get to test this. I don’t have experience on shamisens yet and my Shamisen quide is still in post office waiting me. But heres my project so far. I’m missing strings but will pick them up soon, planned to start with nylon guitar strings as theyre easy to aquire. Printing the parts is done. Model was made by Dysanius. I first was planning to edit the model little but soon found out that it is easier to go with the plan at start.

Had some minor holes in Simplify 3D slicer but no problems on Cura. Its printed on carbon PLA filament and weights about 1200g.

I think most guitar strings list their thickness on the package, so this might help:

  • 一の糸: 0.836mm
  • 二の糸: 0.656mm
  • 三の糸: 0.510mm

I’m pretty sure I got the info here on the forum.

Do the itomaki print with holes for the strings or will you need to drill them?

Please let me know how this turned out i have a nice printer so if it turns out good i may print the model as well.
