Appearing on YOU何しに日本へ tonight!

To all Bachido members living in Japan!

If you get TokyoTV, check out YOU何しに日本へ?tonight! (July 8th) They’ll be showing the my surprise interview at Narita!!

At last! My dream of being on a show with hosts watching in tiny boxes in the corner of the screen will come true! :stuck_out_tongue:

Unfortunately, I won’t be able to watch it as I am in California. If you are able to record the show and it’s not too much trouble, I would be super gleeful and grateful!!

Bachi on!!
Kyle

If I can get it I will try to record it!!! Woooooo!

I just saw you on the show!
As I did not know you were interviewed I was like “Hey! I know that guy! He’s the shamisen guy whose picture is on the book I bought from him!”.
That was really cool you played for the show!
Great appearance!

I really want to watch it too! Please someone upload the recording!!

Got it! My friend Chizumi sent me the link.

Sorry for the poor quality - my video grabber had 4 different links on it, and I didn’t know which one to grab, so I just used my phone. You might have to turn up the sound, too. Sorry.

Now, could someone maybe translate it for me? lol

Kyle, you’re welcome to grab that off my YouTube channel if you like.

Thank you Lorraine!!!

This is good enough to see what’s going on!

The picture was probably helpful enough to understand, but Kyle was telling the guy that he’s made his own shamisen, the reason he took up shamisen was his dad, he used to play shakuhachi…etc.

Oh, Kyle didn’t forget to mention Hirosaki taikai! Twenty of gaijin players ( mixture of different nationalities) made it to taikai!

PS, Was the guy beside Kyle ( only shown up at the end of the video) Grant???

Ahh, cool! I heard him say “shakuhachi”, and I kept hearing “sugoi” (that means “cool”, right?) so I figured the hosts were pretty impressed. I figured he was showing his shamisen (that IS one that he made, right?) Still, even not understanding what was being said, that was pretty cool to see, congrats, Kyle!

Oh, and I loved BAM! My card! With a nice juicy close up

As I did not know you were interviewed I was like “Hey! I know that guy! He’s the shamisen guy whose picture is on the book I bought from him!”.

Haha!! That’s a funny coincidence!

Ah! Welcome to the Bachido Forum Morand!

Yatta!!! Many thanks to you and Chizumi san!!! I was nervous that I’d be missing it. So happy!!!

Oh, and I loved BAM! My card! With a nice juicy close up

Haha! Exactly! They didn’t know that when Kyle’s in Japan, he’s always carrying books, cards and Bachido swag! :stuck_out_tongue:

My friend (and fellow player in Togen Daiko) Chizumi watches that program from California! (She is also learning the shamisen, but nagauta style from a traditional teacher.) It was she who sent me the link. I’ll send her your regards.

They also got a nice juicy close-up of your book! Woohoo, Congrats, Kyle, you are a star!

far out cool and likable performance and interview (I guess)

It’s so exciting! This is a great advertisement for Kyle and Monsters. Congrats, Kyle san!

Did someone already mentioned this link? You can watch the entire show. Kyle appears briefly at the beginning in introduction.

There might be drag, and you would want to play a whole thing first (put in mute and do something else) and replay.

That’s the link that I took the video from. Kyle appears at 21:38 minutes in - I just cut the rest, and only put Kyle in. He appears for about 3 seconds in the title sequence as well.

You can watch this show in America, it’s very cool! Thank you, Sea!
