WOOT

Just got it!

oh looks like I need to reactivate my paypal account

after all that is legit though yeah I expected a free additional crash course but who would blame you for charging a couple of bucks for all the effort I am sure it is worth it

Grant: Indeed!

Cody: Awesome!! I hope you enjoy it! As always, let me know if you have any ideas for things you’d like to change or whatnot.

BH: Heheh, at first I felt funny about charging, but it ended up taking up much more time/energy than I remembered from the first time, and playing the normally-fast pieces at a sluggish 60BPM was more frustrating than I thought, so I felt a bit better about asking for a little okane. In any case, I assure you it is very worth it. Even I’m impressed! :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh man! That was great! Yay for bathtub broadcasts!

Hope this is the beginning of a series of new videos

You should add a description where you list everything you get, plus maybe it’s time to translate it to Japanese? Maybe dubbed shamisen videos of Americans in bathtubs is THE shit.

New to this forum, just want to ask Kyle how much the K-02 is selling for. Thanks from Carl H in Townsville, Queensland, Australia

Just another question please, is there an English book on beginners Shamisen playing? all my internet/ebay searches come up with only Japanese…of which i can’t read or speak yet. Cheers

Carl, do you have a copy of Kyle Abbott’s book yet ? If not you are already here at bachido! I would Definately look into it. It is in everyone’s opinion the best book in English about Shamisen out there! It includes many songs to play and detailed explanations of all basic techniques!

Welcome to Bachido, Carl! I’m sure you will find this place useful in your shamisen journey. By the way, do you happen to know Noriko Tadano? An amazing shamisen player living…somewhere in Australia (I forgot exactly where)

Anyhow, Nitta san is asking $4,171 (330,000 yen) for the K-02 shamisen.

And as Kevin says, I would humbly recommend that you check out my book Shamisen of Japan - http://bachido.com/products/shamisen-of-japan.

Actually, I would also say a better way to start learning the basics would be to take the free shamisen crash course (http://bachido.com/learn/basic/crash-course-1/chapter-1). That is an easier way to get basics under your belt before using the book.

Glad to have you here!

Karl: Indeed! It will be the first of many! (Started preparing the Sakura course today!) What’s more, when Nitta san comes here next week, we’ll be hitting the studio, where we’re gonna bust out as many instructional courses as we can.

Just bought! anxious to try it at home!!

whoah I can only share a first impression so far but this looks VERY well made so I am looking forward to checking it out in detail too . . . which I would do right now would I not have to work tomorrow and catch some sleep before that

Thanks for the new course, Kyle.

Woots! Thanks guys! I may be asking y’all if I can use your statements as testimonials soon! :stuck_out_tongue:

Kanari kakkoi! Bought and looking forward to its use, arigatou Kyle-san

Awesome!! Enjoy enjoy, Gary!

yeah yeah the weekend has started so I should get to enjoying this awesome looking course soon . . . after having had a look at the tab in Kyle’s book this week again I already found that it includes 1 position notation gah what a bad song since due to uh minor design flaws I can’t make 1 sound on my stick but what is 1 at ni can be uh 6 at 1 or whatever I already found it this week on my sao and am sure to have some fun with it this weekend yeah I gotta say for me having had the notation already is one thing but following a course is surely a great motivator to learn it and surely more fun than just following some notation . . .
