Anyone using a plastic bachi? What are your opinions on plastic vs. wood bachi? I am just learning and using wood.
If you use plastic, do you think it breaks strings more than a wood bachi?

I have not heard of a bachi which breaks strings, but I do know plastic koma tend to break strings.
I use a bekkou/bisonhorn bachi, it feels the same as a mix of both plastic and wood. Hardness of plastic but the natural roughness of wood. If you know what I mean.
Wood sounds quite nice, but I hear it can splinter after a long time varying on how you play. Whereas plastic wont really break but itll have a different smoothness against the strings.
But no, I do not think any bachi will break strings really (unless its a light saber or a knife in disguise)
please correct me if I am wrong at all ^.^ I am just going off based what I know.
I use both wood and plastic, but neither has ever damaged strings. The wood has a slightly softer and warmer sound, I think …
I’ve used wood and plastic and I definately prefer wood out of the two, the plastic bachi have zero flex in them and a very sterile sound. If either was going to break a string though my guess would be the wooden one as it chips and wears away easily. Defo upgrade to bekkou/faux bekkou when you are able to though, it makes life so much easier, at least it did for me
