There’s no question, Mike and I have a deep connection with shamisen and truly love it more than any other instrument. On the same hand, after 13+ years of playing, the mystery of the instrument and wide-eyed excitement has long since mellowed into a normalized “extension of one’s soul” connection, similar to that of which you hear from happy couples who have been together for 40 years.
