Love the new blogcast! “Take a vacation!”
Agreed, go live. Maybe you can tune the shamisen to the pitch of the Mazzer? Let me know if you need someone to push the button.

at least the coffee was always good today so I was in a good mood and accepted a barefoot guy who came to the taxi stand I mean you know I felt like not being judgmental
. . . of course I cursed myself soon after when after some weird talking and scratching on his part it became clear I would have to wipe over the whole passenger seat and door panel before I would feel good again . . . as for the ride we stopped at a bank where he walked in but failed to withdraw “700 euros” from his account so we went to another near bank only that there he did not even walk in but preferred to ring the bell of a neighboring funeral parlor to no response . . . after that he desired to go to a neighboring village . . . of course the time had come to desire proof that he had any money on him and could pay for the ride . . . since he did not produce any money and said he would not care . . . conveniently and I knew this in advance the other establishment neighboring that bank was a police station so I decided to ring that door bell without further ado . . . as it turned out this guy (I guess cause he “did not care”) stayed put by himself and it turned out this was the 4th time he was taken to the police for not paying a taxi fare . . .
. . . earlier today I took 2 police for a ride to reconstruct a tour that was taken by a night driver who was assaulted and robbed in the woods 2 weeks ago . . . a free of charge service from our central dispatch to help in the investigation and I had the honor cause I drive the only car that is directly operated by the central dispatch company so what can I say I am home and checking bachido and having another cup of good coffee . . . speaking of which I am obviously also looking forward to the upcoming blogcast and I hope you excuse this elaborate off topic post
What a trip. Man, Bernhard, you gotta produce a blogcast! Sounds like many good stories are happening undocumented!
Man, you need to move to Hollywood with a script of “Austrian Taxi Driver”. It’ll be the new COPS!
Oh man! I generally don’t watch television at all these days. But
“Austrian Taxi Driver” would give me a reason to plug the old tube back in! I can see some of the scripts unfolding From the latest story to other stories from B.H.
I can also hear a vague idea for some theme music. Hmmm, this might inspire some New Shamisen tune.
I will be like the austrian version of The Wire, but with coffee instead of Jamesons.
“Austrian Taxi Driver”
awesome haha thanks for the replies - actually one of the reasons I drive during the day is that it’s usually uneventful “regular” and a lot of nice people too . . . some usually harmless weirdos of various flavors really those walk around in suit and tie too . . .
even at night in this town something serious like assault with injured driver happens only about every 6 months or so, couple of robberies per year and surely a couple of runaways per weekend but a lot of night drivers are tuned to the scene and work at night and can handle the drunk so that a usual shift is uneventful too . . .
also the police seems to seriously investigate any sort of taxi cases . . .
anyway I could say some additional things but what I care about most is a coffee tune AND a taxi tune on the horizon?
okay Kyle I should really settle that coffee debt soon and Kevin I hope you will accept coffee and our yearly calendar in the future . . .
Hahahahaa!!!
That reminds me of what my first time in an LA taxi felt like. (I was 14)
Imagine that taxi driver getting last in the taxi queue
also like the clip for the number 22 cause I was born on a 22nd of may but I usually keep the car cleaner
was about to mention LA and my interest in details about the local scene there since it is my sort of favorite city in the US glad to hear Kyle that you must have enjoyed that ride . . .
once I refind the pics and got my site plus personal blog online in fresh version I will upload some (boring) taxi pictures and share a link . . . and below is a chill out clip enough of this taxi stuff for now and again thanks for the comments
uau this forum is getting very active, you guys are practically living here…thats great…pity i cant follow…
well i just watched the new blogcast. i loved it…
the espresso coming out of that new machine is awesome,
and the whole japan recording experience is great. i like the home-studio set up…hehe futons all over the place, jamming in the kitchen, great fun , stiil laughting at the “Raimer” monologue… …
ohh and the tanabata, i love tanabata…wearing yukata having a fan in one hand , beer in other , and going from stall to stall, eating and drinking…yeah and dancing
miru yori kikuy ori odoru mono tanabata odori wa odoru mono…lalalaala lalalaala lalalala
I think I will see that Taxi movie soon. It seems interesting!
My grandfather was actually a cab driver before he died. That was back in the day when all cab drivers knew about each other. The time where instead of trying to get first to get customers, they played cards together at the taxi queues. It was back when you had interesting conversations in the taxi.
I don’t travel by Taxi very often since it is extremely expensive here, but when I try to make contact they are mostly listening and not speaking of stories they would have heard from other passengers etc. I was amazed when my dad and I were going by cab to my grandfather’s funeral and the driver was an older man so my dad asked him if he knew of my grandfather and he did.
I guess every city is different when it comes to the type of drivers
I just updated the rome clip and hope that’s the full version anyway there should be more taxi movies . . . . .
. . . or maybe it’s quite similar as for cities and taxi drivers you get to know or at least talk to or if only see a lot of colleagues at the taxi stand and on the road and there’s a good chance one knows someone in particular else of the 300 car drivers in our group or even the over 600 total in our city . . . chess and card playing at the airport for sure where the radio less cars queue for come by passengers . . . and really there are some bad drivers that would have no trouble ripping you off but considering the usually low income in the business I am every once in a while caught by a feeling of amazement about how many drivers actually are keen to do a good job . . . so yeah taxi is a strange but sometimes cool business . . .
Coffee and Taxis are now officially Shamisen related topics. I mean… What would the bachido experience be without them?
glad to hear Kyle that you must have enjoyed that ride …
Enjoyed? I was 14 and almost crapped my shorts.

Aren’t we! Even for me, it’s a struggle to keep up (but it’s better than the struggle to get people in here, like it was for our failed Karate club)
well i just watched the new blogcast. i loved it…
Glad you liked it! This week’s episode (releasing tomorrow) is gonna be fun as well. The week after next will conclude the Sapporo adventures, so next will be the awesome blogcast you made from Bachido Ireland.
the espresso coming out of that new machine is awesome,
Oh man, it is. If you ever come to Santa Cruz (I’m sure we’ll have a Bachido festival here as well), we’ll make shots.
Kyle,
When do we get to hear the coffee song?
Waku Waku! (as they say in good old Nippon)
kohhii bushi kudasai!!!
When do we get to hear the coffee song?
In less than 24 hours from now!! Hold your breath!
