I know, right?? Right! I never thought so either!
Are you on Twitter too? Follow us at @BachidoOfficial
That is all. Happy new year everyone!
Great covering of all bases and bringing all potential people to the shamisen although I hope you continue to share all major updates definitely including latte art also on Bachido / Kyle facebook or on this very forum too . . .
Cool! How about Instagram, while you’re at it?
BH - Absolutely, I’ll be covering all the bases! The 140 character limit is a bit limiting for me, so I definitely won’t be forgetting the forum/facebook pages.
Kyle - Please remind me, what’s the advantage of posting pictures to Instagram? (as opposed to just uploading them to Facebook?)
As an individual user, it’s just preference. For instance, I prefer instagram over facebook by a long shot, since there’s less junk (read: political nonsense and such) to weed through, and I’m more of a visual person.
However, as a community or larger entity, such as Bachido, it’s another outlet for exposure, as well as a place for people to tag pictures, etc, and is especially useful for something like the Shamisen camps. Say, for example, you’re in the middle of ShamiCamp and you take a little video of Mike Penny shredding, or a photo of Nitta-San teaching a group, you can post it on instagram and then any number of related hashtags such as #Shamisen #Japan #三味線 or what have you, and anyone searching for those tags will see Bachido’s photo, and anyone who follows will see it in their feed. Think of it as a much more visual incarnation of Twitter. And if you’re worried about facebook and twitter missing the action, you can link the accounts, so anything posted on Instagram will automatically be posted on whichever social media outlets you want it to go to. Another advantage is that users can tag @BachidoOfficial in their photos or videos, as well, which is great if someone who is a member here decides to post a shamisen pic or video, or maybe happens upon Kevin Kmetz in concert and posts a pic, they can show their support and point more people to the community.
Make sense?
Understood! That makes a lot of sense! Thanks for explaining it so well.
Well then, you’ve sold me on it! I’m gonna sign up today/soon!
Prepare for a barrage of coffee shots with filters!
Yes! (That’s pretty much the majority of my own Instagram feed.)
