Bachido Raffle: Win a Nagauta Repair Project!

Junk shamisen (the term for shamisen in need of repair) are the perfect solution for shamisen enthusiasts who wants a fun repair project and a decent shamisen to practice with.

Win a Nagauta Repair Project in the Bachido Raffle! This includes one nagauta dou (intact), a karin mitsuori sao (rather good condition, though the joints need to be lightly sanded to fit) and a tenjin, also in rather good condition. With a little light handwork & cleaning, a set of itomaki and a new skin, this shamisen can be restored to shredding condition!

Individual tickets are $1 each and a 12 ticket bundle is $10 (you save $2!) The more tickets you collect, the higher your chances of winning become! Besides winning this set, you are also giving your support for Bachido, and that is greatly appreciated.

To enter, simply send a paypal payment to store@bachido.com and write the amount of tickets you want. The drawing will probably be ‘folded papers in a hat’ style and will be filmed, of course. Raffle drawing is on June 17!

Buy tickets to win cool stuff and support Bachido at the same time!

Good luck!
Kyle Abbott

Aaaaaaaannndd the winner issssss…

Pedro!

Coincidentally, Pedro, a luthier of mandolins and violins, is the guy who gave me a lot of advice on building mandolins and general advice when I made my first shamisen 6-ish years ago. So it’s a pleasure that he can get involved in shamisen too!

Congratulations, bro! Come by and pick up your prize!
And to everyone else who participated, thank you so much for your support and involvement! This was a lot of fun, and there will certainly be more raffles coming up!

oh my I would not have expected such a professional drawing with a professional drawing machine . . . congratulations Pedro . . .

You know that’s a flour sifter, right?

I was showing the video to my husband and we were laughing as the little papers kept flying out. Molti Congratione, Pedro!

a flour sifter? . . . looks like the real thing

Haha! Thanks Lorraine and Bernhard! I was afraid the papers would get stuck for some reason. But worked very well!

It was a long process for such a quick end! Makes me want to get more shamisen and things to do more raffles!

yes yes a quick end but there is a solution you could pick up that annoying “suspenseful” concept so common on TV shows where one guy wins or alternatively has to leave the show so next time with suspenseful shamisen music in the background just read aloud first all papers left in the flour sifter

Hahaha, that was funny.
Had a laught too, when the papers began to fall out and you Kyle kept turning that lever.

おめでとうございます Pedro.

Pedro, the winner of the Bachido Raffle, came over to collect his prize, the Nagauta Repair Project!

Good luck to Pete! Being a musician of bluegrass, country, Hawaiian musics and more, he will be giving everyone a big surprise when he starts swangin’ the shamisen into jams!
