Bachido Tinychat?

Hello everyone. I was wondering if anyone has thought of this yet…

Here is a link to a public webcam chat room, for bachido members only.

The password is : aomori

With this chatroom, we can broadcast and share  I feel like it would be a good place to jam, share music, and just talk.

I think it sounds like a really cool idea! We should try and set a weekly time where we try to get together as a community thing, and of course leave it open for anyone at anytimes if they want it. The problem is getting people from the whole globe to have time to play

Saturdays and Sundays feels like the obvious choice. Europeans and americans can get together so that it is lunch time for the americans and dinner/evening for the europeans and so on.

Online workshops where for example Kyle can demonstrate stuff live would be awesome! Then these could be recorded and edited as parts of the Bachido Blogcast. This means that Kyle doesn’t really have to prepare a lot of material for the show but can instead show stuff that people wonder about.

awesome idea :stuck_out_tongue:

It sounds greate im in !

Kool! I’d be up for it

I’ll be online every time I’m logged into Bachido

Maybe we should have a meeting date. Like Saturday 4:00 Pm , PST? I’m not sure. Whatever works for everyone else…

Kudos for suggesting this, Stev!! It was the subject of conversation over espresso this morning.

I had been thinking of doing online private lessons this way, which is one thing to be implemented in the site when Luke gets time. Anyway, this is a great idea for folks getting together and helping each other and building connections. Somehow a public chat didn’t occur to me. :stuck_out_tongue:

Karl has a fun idea about workshops! Perhaps we could do an official group lesson/workshop once a month (or depending on demand), and then public meets weekly (or on some schedule) where people can help each other 'n stuff.

Again, when Luke has time, he can also put in an official page/box for easily joining/signing public chats or workshops.

Darn, we’re playing a gig tomorrow (Sat) at 4pm. and the week after as well. :-S I could make next Friday at 4pm (or later) though. Anywho, if everyone else can do it tomorrow, let’s make it happen!

Has anyone tried Google Hangout?

This is a great idea!!!

One thought. Perhaps official group workshops could have a tipping option? Something where if the viewer enjoyed the lesson, he/she could donate a few bucks which would go towards future Bachido endeavors. For example, it could go towards developing Made in California Shamisen. Anywho. It’s something that would be voluntary.

online workshops / chats I just thought . . . good idea . . . a lot of additional effort for Kyle though  so definitely a voluntary tipping option would be cool

I owe you a coffee as far as I remember anyway

This is an amazing idea!
I am definitely willing to put some time in to help you guys out and answer questions anyone has. I’ll keep an eye out for opportunities to log on and hang out with you guys. Right now I’m in Japan with Kevin, so we might even be able to all jam together.

That would be really cool. Japan is 7 hours ahead of me so if you guys are there and willing to play at 5 PM or later I’m definately there. Just tell us if/when you feel like doing it.

This would be an awesome hangout opportunity!! you can stream it live if anyone wants to watch or record it if there’s something cool happening

Oh man, we gotta do this sometime.

why hasn’t this happened yet?

That is an excellent question.

I concur.

lmao! I think the two posts above this show why it hasn’t happened yet :stuck_out_tongue:

We need to come up with a time but no one wants to leave anyone out, I don’t think it’s possible so we (or whoever can make it) should just go ahead and do it, how about sunday around the time kyle normally uploads the blogcast (8-10pm UK time)??? Or is that really bad for some people???

someday I think Luke should implement a chat somehow . . . also it would be nice to have a tagline at the bottom of the forum pages where one could see who is online . . . and the option for a personal chat window to open okay again this would require a chat / live messaging feature on the site . . . until then I think an outsourced bachido chat(room) for anytime chatting could also work as was suggested earlier but it should be a simple convenient service and there should be a permanent link to it then on the main site I guess so people are invited to check out who might be chatting at the moment or and as for organized and scheduled chats I think it might be easier in case it would not be this one big chat where everyone gotta be but like liam suggested sort of a weekly occurance at a certain hour or two certain hours to cover different time zones and whoever can be there is there and whoever cannot be there might be able to be there the next time which would then only be a week away or so . . .

and I guess one could possibly even record those “little” chats so those who missed out on it and got enough time for that on top of keeping up with the regular forum could also check out a transcript of that week’s chat posted in a forum section afterwards . . .

(?)

Liam: Lol! That would work for me.
It’s always the most interesting aspect of the group. Sometimes, the more people involved in something, the harder it is to get it off the ground.

B H: Ah yes!!! That’s actually another project in the hopper - Having a window/box/page/section for public chats (which can have a list of scheduled meetup times), and another box for video chat lessons.

Now that the new store update are finally completed, the current Bachido projects are

Bachido Swag: (In Progress - waiting for test shirt to arrive)
Album: (about to go lay on a few tracks)
New Crash Courses (going to make the studio when Luke gets back from Australia)

Haha!! Oh man, I can just imagine the transcripts from the chats - movies, coffee, probably most having nothing to do with shamisen.
