I have asked this on the discord before, but i thought it would be best to cast a wider net. So I was wondering about some budget skin, because i want to learn how to do it. Are there any good options in Europe (where i live)?
I bought 6 sheets of leather from Japan for 10000 yen + shipping. From zenmarket. Already used two as I have 3 shamisen at the moment and one needed replacement.
What kind of skin, because i am not a big fan of using cat or dog skins? To where did they ship?
I’m in Poland and Zen market is a 3rd party that ship’s to all locations (unless legally they can’t). Unless it is clearly stated what material is used and it is not allowed to sell them in your country you can buy it and they will ship it for a fee. Leather I got is cat or dog, I tried different leather used for drums (goat if I remember correctly) but the sound was different as it was tougher. I have some sheep which I haven’t tried yet but I think it is between cat and goat, not sure about the sound.
Tried it. But they refused because the amozon listing didn’t have enough reviews.
