I notice that sometimes while playing my san no ito will gain a sort of “buzzing” sound thats kinda reminiscent of electric guitar. This isn’t a problem though. Actually, I want to figure out why it does that and how I can keep replicating it because I’d love to hear more of that sort of “crunchiness” coming from my shamisen like in this Shamio cover https://youtu.be/z38M3wLIQU0?si=uh7ndjiajPutyMNp
I suppose it’s the ichi no ito resonating when it’s prefectly tuned.
When the strings are perfectly tuned for example in honchoushi, when you strike the ni no ito at position 6 or the san no ito free, the ichi no ito resonates. It’s the sawari effect
