Can I make a Fujaku myself?

As above said. I live in Thailand and there’s no store or anything here. I don’t have a Fujaku and I just start playing Shamisen so I think it would be great if I have a Fujaku for training. Is there a way I can make one? I don’t want to order it from overseas. Thank you!

Hi there.

I never used a fujaku, but when I first started my teacher marked a few positions on the neck with a bit of chalk.

If you have a tuner, you could use it to find the proper positions (we call them tsubo)

Thank you! I’m super new to this. If possible, could you tell me what notes is for each marker?

I am also very interested in marking my shamisen at the right places but don’t know what notes to be looking for.

Tune to C at 442 hz:

0 C (open)
1 C# (just beneath the chibukuro)
2 D
3 D#
3# E
4 F (generally at the first joint of a misuori sao)
5 F#
6 G
7 G#
8 A
9 A#
9b B
10 C

If memory serves

Thank you very much!

Please be aware that the exact placement for each position will change a little with your koma.

But these are the tone-relationships you want!
