Ever use a veneer on a sao?

Would it ever be OK to put an ebony veneer on a one piece sao?

Absolutely! To preserve the correct string height and everything, it would be ideal to shave down enough wood equaling the thickness of the veneer (1/16th inch?) first, so that when the veneer is put on, the sao’s thickness/height remains the same as before. :slight_smile:
