Everyone! Check out Grant Woolard!

Hi Kyle, Grant (Reimer that is…) and everyone out there in the Bachido community.
I hope I didn`t miss this if someone already posted something about this guy. But so far I have not seen a reference here on bachido so I would like to share a discovery I made on youtube recently. The dudes name is Grant Woolard ! (Another Grant haha!)
I want to encourage all of you Shamisen enthusiasts (especially those of you with a healthy sense of humor) to waste to no time in going to

www.youtube.com/grantwoolard

I cant even post any "one" video because they are all so funny so Ill just recommend his entire channel. Theres a lot more than Shamisen (He composes for other instruments as well and also features some very hilarious material not entirely even related to music) anyway Ill let his vids speak for themselves though. Rock On, everyone!

Hey, what a funny coincidence. I know Grant from my time on JET and actually just told him about Bachido! We may see him here himself soon enough. Glad to see he’s generating some buzz!

There have been many jokes about shamisen hero, but what we really want is Shamisensmith. Have you seen http://rocksmith.ubi.com/rocksmith/en-US/home/ ?

Basically the same concept, only that you use a real guitar and learn songs properly.

Karl Hedlund,

My God! You are right!!! Shamisensmith would be a great step forward and I can see how this would be needed much more so than Guitarsmith since Shamisen (as you all know) is so inaccesible in a lot of the world whereas almost every town/city everywhere already has at least a few guitar instructors floating around

Jamie Low,
HAHAHAHa! That is cool to hear from someone who knows that guy!
I have watched nearly every single vid on his YT channel. He`s great!

Funny enough, I had actually seen him in a shamisen competition a few weeks before I met him at a seminar. After finally figuring out where I’d seen this guy before, I go up to him and say “You play shamisen!” You should’ve seen the look on his face. After explaining myself, one of the other guys there was like “Oh, man, I thought you could tell from his calluses or something. That story isn’t nearly as interesting.”

I’ve officially joined!

Kevin - I’ve been a fan of yours since I started shamisen several years ago so I am both honored and shocked that you have so glowingly recommended my obscure channel!

Jamie - thanks so much for introducing Bachido to me. Looks like you guys are a lovely, close-knit group of shamisenthusiasts.

Hey In case many of you haven`t seen this one…

Its a really nicely edited video featuring Grant Woolard and Hanako Ward playing a composition by their Shamisen teacher and featuring Amazing scenery from Gifu, Japan. This was the first vid I watched from Mr. Woolards channel. Awesome. I am hoping to collaborate with him at some point in the future!
