My shamisen dou has arrived from bachido store after being reskinned with fibersen, So much better, have gone from plastic to calf and fibersen beats them hands down.
more reverb now on my cheap shamisen and I can now hear myself when playing next to dog skin shamisen.
dog is still louder and has bounce back where fibersen has no bounce back, but when you take into account that you dont need to protect from changes in temp as much it certainly balances out.
Congratulations! I listened to Josh’s fibersen in real life. I noticed a small lack of treble compared to dog skin but when struck hard there was this bass that I would not hear on dog skin. Different, and cool.
