Yeah! very nice!! I like a lot when two so “different” musical instruments can play together!
Here shamisen its like the first voice or the leading instrument, but I really like it! sometimes it seems like country or something like these

The shamisen starts like a shamisen but turns played like banjo or flatpicking guitar, and all that sounds like funny bluegrass music…
Yeah, it’s interesting to hear the different textures the shamisen imparts just by the use of fingerpicks. For example, at the very beginning, I got the feeling of a pipa. Then 30 seconds in, it sounded more Japanese like. Several minutes into it, a bluegrass vibe came in. However, in all the textures, it still has the tone of a shamisen and blended well with all the styles, in my opinion.
(and just imagine how it’d be if he had a little sawari action going on! )
