Finding musicians among emigrantst might be really difficult

I’m thinking of a strange thought. In these years, lots of emigrants land on different countries. Most of them are from Arabian world (Middle East, Magreb states like Tunisia, Egypt, Morocco, Libya…), and they land to have a sure and stable work. Maybe, among the really vaste number of emigrants, there might me someone who is a musician, no? I know this forum isn’t related to it, but I would like to have some tips on how to find someone, even

Ok, the post is incomplete for unknown reasons

So, I was saying… I would liketo have an exchange with some of them from email or somewhat like. I know this isn’t a forum regarding social stuff, but suggestions are welcome! <3

So… I know it’ll be somewhat strange, but could someone suggest a way to find someone?
Thank you very very very much <3 <3 <3

Well, I since I don’t know where you’re from, I can only suggest that you might ask around in a supervised (!) refugee shelter.

Here in Germany we have lots of immigrants and refugees over the past few years and I’ve only met a handful who were quite alright. One of them was a stunning oud player and another played the Setar very well, but not many of them are musicians. Not many people from African/Arabian countries that arrive here have cultural education (if any at all, no offense here but aside from quran schools, most of the country population in Lybia or Tunisia don’T have any education besides the scriptures).

Another thing is, that some people see music as forbidden in Islam, not banned in any muslimic country though, but it is viewed as “idle talk” or “idle doing” and thus not compatible with devotion to allah. But that depends on the sect and on the intepretation of seperate hadith.

It is somewhat of a paradox, since singing culture and music have deeps roots in arabic traditions.

I think: asking associations might be somewhat really hard, since, in many cases, we don’t know what we have.

Jan, I’d oike to know the people you mentioned, I think not directly because I don’t live in Germany, but like from email or I don’t know. I’m not joking. I’m talking seriously, Jan

I want to know someone who plays oud, Jan! <3

Jan, please PM me!!!

I will message you as soon as I get pf my shift, but I will have to look up the Infos first, since this was about a year ago and they have been relocated ftom their first shelter for immigration and work process.

Since we only live in a very small town, they didn’t have a lot of options here, so they were moved tp Leipzig, Berlin and Hamburg for instance, so it might take a while, if it works at all, to reconnect.
