First recording of newly made shamisen

Hey all
I finally got a recording of the new shamisen that I finished making in early January.

Super fun, I’m playing a 12th century, probably Italian, piece (with improvisations) with the brilliant Montreal based harpsichordist Katelyn Clark. Recorded live in Rolston Hall at The Banff Centre in Banff, AB, Canada.

Here’s the link on soundcloud https://soundcloud.com/catherinethompson/lamento-di-tristano

and in case you’d like to have a look, here’s the page that I have with some images

There might be a video around that I can share later.
Cheers and all the best!
Cath

Catherine! You are AMAZING! I listened to the whole performance and am looking forward to hearing it again later on big speakers without distractions! At the moment I’m at work and cannot actually play it too loud so will Definately look forward to giving this a proper listen. I could hear your Shamisen and the harpsichord playing together! It was like sparks of energy filling the air here. Even at low volume I could totally get the awesome feeling! You are a groovy Shamisen player! Thanks for sharing that!

:-O!!!

I can’t say it better than Kevin. That’s lovely!! Your shamisen sounds lovely and the piece is dynamic and musically very enjoyable.

Gonna pass this to Nitta san now.

applause!!!

applause . . . awesome and your own cool looking shamisen too . . . cool playing cool piece and it goes very well with that hapsicord! I just thought there is surely a considerable range of other instruments and settings along with suitable pieces out there that would sound great with the shamisen even though the commentators above alone have already done a lot

Great! I enjoyed it a lot!

Great job Catherine!
This song has awesome feeling to it!

I was playing some improv today when I noticed myself being inspired by the tune you played Catherine! I decided to record a little bit, so check it out

Thanks everyone for your kind and lovely comments.

I love it, Catherine (^ ^) It is making me almost crying!!!

freakin amazing!
