I found this beautiful dou in a recycle shop in kyoto and it was 3000 yen so I had to get it. It’s going to be some months before I can actually do anything with it so I’m going to take my time researching. There are some cracks and a small piece in one of the corners where it’s going to touch the skin, is missing so I’m wondering, does anyone here have any experience restoring dou or something similar to it? I’m hoping I can use this as an instrument rather than a decorative piece but that’s maybe pushing my luck too far.
