the rubber mat glued on my shamisen is coming off. i need to glue it back on, i am worried of using a wrong type of glue and damaging the wood. what type of glue would you normally use?? it is probably stupid question, considering you guys are building your own shamisens and i got an issue with this…

Not a stupid question - It’s always better to check before you do something to an instrument. I’ve just used rubber cement to re-affix it in the past. I don’t think it has any effect on the wood, at least I’ve never noticed anything in the 15 or so years that I’ve been doing it. If it mars the finish at all, you won’t ever see it, since it is under the mat.
