Hey guys,
I know it was mentioned briefly (really briefly) in a previous thread, but I’m just wondering if anyone has any info on installing strap buttons (for a guitar strap) into the dou.
Also, if you’re just tying your guitar strap on to your shamisen with shoelaces, could you tie it on to the tenjin and tailpiece, or would that warp the neck?
Any help in this matter would be awesome!!

Generally all Mugen21 electric Shamisn have strap buttons installed already. The thing about tying a strap to the tenjin has been a common practice amongst Chuzao players but I have never seen that done by a Tsugaru Shamisen player which leads me to guess that the reason might be that it is bad for the neck and might warp it (as you say) due to its large size .
I see… I might just tie my strap on with shoelaces to the tailpiece and where the sao joins the dou… for the time being
