Hajiki superscript in notation?

So I’m learning all the songs listed in the index, from easiest to hardest. Currently I’m learning Tosa no Sunayama, and it has what looks like hajiki with three bars over it after a 6-66 phrase.

So the part goes:
6-66(6)-4-44(4), where the notes in the parentheses are the superscripted notes. I don’t know what to do with them, and unless I’m blind it’s not in the Shamisen of Japan book.

Help?

Ah yes. Well, to put it simply (since my academic knowledge/explanation of notation is very limited), that note (with the hajiki and three bars) means to squish that extra note in, while keeping the beat steady.

It’s more understandable to hear than read, (hence the need for an audio CD included with the book) so check out the recording of Tosa no Sunayama here (http://bachido.com/overview/index-of-songs)
I miss the extra (6) note, but you can hear it on 4-44(4).

Does that help?

I’m also learning Tosa no Sunayama and i have been wondering the same thing
so helps me too thanks. I was stuck on the part with many 0 and 1  it’s easy to play when looking at the notations but it’s harder to remember.
