Help wanted for Sakura Jonakara

Hello Shamisenists:

The other day (Feb 7, oops! time flies), Sakura Jonkara was announced here by Mr Bachido, Kyle Abbott, who said;

Nitta san wonders if members would like to perform a jonkara piece he has composed called Sakura Jonkara.

So, I just started practicing a week ago.
Since there’s no score, I listened to the mp3 and copied the whole song as much as I can. Some parts are very hard to guess which strings to hit or what techniques (HAJIKI / SUKUI / OSAE…) to use. I was wondering if anyone can help me.
My rendition is still very tentative.

The phrase from 0’49 to 0’55: both 2nd and 3rd string repeats “4 3 0 3”… I did SUKUI in both “3” but it’s very tricky when all the notes are played softly. Maybe I should use HAJIKI in “3 0”?
How would you play? Also, at the end of the phrase, will you use the open 3rd string, or the position #4 on 2nd string??

I know I should ask Nitta-san, but he must be busy with his new baby. I just don’t want to bother him…

Hope I can play with someone in real time this year, or next year!
Bachi on!!

Hey Aki! Glad to see you are planning to play this song.

The phrase from 0’49 to 0’55: both 2nd and 3rd string repeats “4 3 0 3”… I did SUKUI in both “3” but it’s very tricky when all the notes are played softly. Maybe I should use HAJIKI in “3 0”?

Yes, from what I can hear, it sounds like only the last “3” uses sukui. I think the first “3” should be hajiki.

How would you play? Also, at the end of the phrase, will you use the open 3rd string, or the position #4 on 2nd string??

Do you mean at the very-very end, at 0:56? I think that’s #4 on the ninoito. It sounds a wee bit muted (from the finger), not as sharp as the san no ito.

I’ve been practicing side 1 (well, the other part to what you’re playing. I assume that’s side 1). In the next few days, I’ll play along to your video in the style you presented to us last year. () Hopefully it will all sync up correctly!

Bachi on!!! (And stay warm!)

By the way, to any Team Bachido members reading this, who is planning to join in Sakura Jonkara? Of course, Kita no Hibiki is the high priority, but if you feel confident with that, feel free to join in with Sakura Jonkara.

Hello!

I’m not going to the festival but I’ve just trying to lesten and writing on a sheet music for Sakura jongara each part.

That’s my stlye so I don’t think people can read it ^^

I’m not sure it’s correct about position and technique but we could play it when we meet in Aomori !?!?

I want to watch a video ,at least !!!
