Hi Grandpa Kevin!

LOL - I was doing a search for “Kokiriko Bushi”, and I found this old post by Kevin Kmetz about Mike Penny - who is my Shamisen Sensei …

Haha… wow. Since you are a student of Mike Penny that would technically make you my Grand-student! well done my children. well done!

I never thought of it that way, hahaha! (I’m having a great time with Mike, and my shamisen playing has grown by leaps and bounds with him! Thank you BOTH for your knowledge, and of COURSE, Kyle-Sensei, because without him, I never would have begun this …)

Watch out, Kevin, When I see you, I might have to call you “お祖父さん”

XOXO Lorraine

This is super funny because I was actually thinking about that this exact topic other day, what to call Kevin, our grand-shamisen teacher. We finally get to meet our Grand-Sensai Kevin this summer!

Haha! Right On! I’m a Grandpa!

I consider every Shamisen player I see my master. I try to copy the techniques from the good ones, and correct my mistakes from the others.
Yes, that is copied from a Confucius quote, Haha. But since most of us here also learned a lot from Kyle Abbot through his Shamisen lessons here on Bachido, or on his lessons on youtube, I guess that would make most of us brother-sensei or sister-sensei.
