Hirosaki Taikai 2013 - Sign ups!

That makes sense. How far is Aiya from your residence? Actually, visiting Aiya would make a GREAT blogcast contribution. Maybe a little interview of Gareth or even Shibutani san himself!

Haha. OK!

OMG!!! This will be epic! Hopefully the first of many Bachido gatherings for Hirosaki and Kanagi Taikai!!!
I’m so glad there are so many that want to join!

Is there an upper limit to how many people there can be on the group part? Should we perhaps make two groups, performing different pieces?
I’m still really on for Kita no Hibiki, since I love the sound of it and absolutely want to learn it!

I’m going to California in three weeks, I plan to put the final touch to the roadtrip and hirosaki plans!

I’m starting a new thread for the roadtrip thing, since I think it’s better to have them separated!

Sooooo awesome!!! I’m looking forward to this spring like crazy!

Yay, Anne of Sweden!! It is more and more exciting and real!
As for Kita no Hibiki, I have memorized half the pages on part 2 and maybe the normal speed is very fast for me and I must be omitting high grace note. Play should be within 4 minutes at Taikai, and MOS play was 3 minutes and 55 seconds or so at the very fast speed.

Kyle, I think I need to get a plane ticket to Aomori as soon as possible. Golden week is a crazy season to move inside Japan. Should I get to Aomori May 1st or 2nd is OK?

Anne again, 2013 Golden week starts on April 27 Saturday. Because April 29Monday is Showa emperor’s birthday and it is a national holiday. So a lot of people in Japan want to take day offs and move by car. My concern is terrible traffic jam especially on highways. I would like you to plan the road trip flexibly avoiding the jam.

Kyoko! Congrats on memorizing most of Kita no Hibiki! With the simplified version Kevin is composing, you should be able to confidently play along at the right speed. I’m sure Nitta san will slow it down a bit too. His father and him recorded a version for the new MoS CD and I was a little surprised how slow they played it. (But it still sounds awesome, of course  )

Just made this video to get the word out to Bachido members who may not check the forum as often as we do. :stuck_out_tongue:

Feel free to spread the word!

Okay, so upon serious consideration, I have decided it is feasible for me, however, I need to know when the deadline is. I am going to start fundraising, and try and get a few sponsors. This is an experience my whole heart and soul don’t want to go without.

Awesome!! I’m glad you’ve changed your mind. How good you’ve become in such a short period, it would be a sin for you to not be there.

Alright, Masahiro says that the registration deadline (which he volunteered to do for us) is sometime in February, so let’s make the deadline is February 3rd.

So, by February 3rd, you may confirm your participation by sending a paypal payment with the amount for the registration fee (I will ask Masahiro what that is)

At that time, when a list of confirmed participants has, I can start making shirts for everybody!

Travis! That’s so cool!

Kyle, that’s great! I’m so very excited. Thanks for the info. Kevin, thank you sir.
