HIROSAKI TEAM 2013 Practice video!

Hey Bachido guys and gals!

Here’s a quick video covering the first part of Kita no Hibiki for this spring. Kyle and I worked out an easy version for those of you who are joining us but who may be just starting out etc.

This is part one which I am sure is accurate to what Kyle and I discussed but I have not actually seen Kyle’s tabbed out version. I am going to wait to do the second part until I hear from Kyle or until he and I can have another Skype session.

Incidentally I’d like to send a reminder to all those team members who have Skype and want to get together to to prepare for next spring, please send me a PM to set that up. So far I’ve met with Anne and I think this Sunday Kyoko San so… Let me know, everyone else!!!

How are the group performances set up with mics? I was just thinking that if you are like 15 people where most people play the main notes only, they will kind of absorb all the subtle details that the full version has. Now, the more experienced players strike harder of course, but still I think it could be something to look into to get the best sound possible.

I like the simplified version! I think it will sound great all together!

Karl, I actually think a majority will be playing the full version. With potentially 20 members attending, only 5 will be using the special notation, I think.

I actually hope the simplified version is loud enough, because it really sounds great together!

Wow we already have that many players who can play Kita No Hibiki? Awesome! Looked at your plan in the other thread and it seems you will have time to get it going the way it should.

I am sure to be one of the loud players of simplified version. Started to memorize it ♪(^^*)♪.

Oh looks good :stuck_out_tongue: haven’t actually even tried Kita no Hibiki ever yet …
so i don’t know yet which one i’ll be playing but i guess tomorrow i’m going to find out.

Yea i guess i’ll be playing the easier version… It’s not THAT hard the normal one either but it seems i have some issues keeping up with the beat and stuff :stuck_out_tongue: (maybe with a little practice?) but i guess i’ll just go with the easier version in taikai

Ortjo: is your possibility of coming to Taikai high? Sorry I have not reading your schedule so carefully, but it is going to be fantastic if you can come to Japan!!!

Kyoko

Annoyingly enough there’s no knowing yet what the possibility is. It all depends if i manage to get the funding or not.
I will send one format this month and a second one in next month
and the decision if i get the funding will come in a month or two after i’ve sent the formats.

But i can say that i THINK i have pretty good chance of getting the funding since i’m one of the only shamisen players here in finland and it’s good for finnish culture to get more information and possibilites to learn about different musical cultures + i might be the only one in finland who is determined to go up on a stage in cultural happenings and share the joy of japanese musical culture.

So i hope and think that my chances are rather high since i’m doing something that benefits my country.

Ortjo

Oh, I will just wait and keep my fingers crossed! Finland must send you here.

haha i have to agree :stuck_out_tongue:

Oh man! It’s going to be great to have you join us Ortjo ! Represent Finland and join us this spring! Yeah!!!

Keeping my fingers crossed. Would be awesome meeting up :stuck_out_tongue:

This is exactly what I was hoping you would make, Kev! I was looking over the PDF and was having a really hard time simplifying my playing to match up with the altered notation. This will help tremendously in teaching everyone!

Thanks dude! I will be making part two soon. It would help if everyone would either Skype me or post vids of themselves playing what they can so far of Kita no Hibiki so me, Grant, Kyle, Masahiro etc. can help get you all prepared even more! This spring is coming up soon! Grant, are you playing individually this spring? And what abut Anne? If so, hopefully you guys have gotten the paperwork? If not let me know and I’ll look into getting you guys signed up!

Digging this older thread up…

Could be it be possible to get tablature made for this easier version also?
Few places confusing me cause first i started with the full version but then i realized i can’t keep up with the pace so now i’m mixing some parts accidently in from the whole version…

So tablature for this easier would help

Hey Ortjo,
I’ve got the tab. I’ll send it to you via the facebooks.

Kyle, Ortjo, anyone,

It is possible to get this tab send to me as well? Much appreciated. I’m itching to learn this, but alas…my ears cannot make sense of this Kita No Hibiki compared to the one in the book.

Me thinks I’m missing something here.

Curtis!!

About time you came out from lurking in the cyber shadows! :stuck_out_tongue: Welcome to the Bachido forum!

Indeed! I’ll send it to you now!

Curtis i think you are making the same mistake i did when i tried to play it the first time.

There’s 2 players so the upper line in the book is always for the “background” player and the lower line is for the main player

so play only the lower line (or the top one)

cause i was also wondering when playing every line like “what the heck”, but then i realized that the other one is for the background dude
