Hiroshi Takasaki - Tsugaru-Shamisen player from Kumamoto

During a conversation with Grant, Kyle, and Nitta-san I mentioned having met a Tsugaru-Shamisen player who hailed from Kumamoto while I was living in Kyushu, Japan. For the life of me, I couldn’t remember his name…

With luck, I found his blog! So I am sharing my findings here. Maybe other members will find him interesting? Be warned; his site/blog is almost entirely in Japanese.

He also has a handful of videos on Youtube. From the comments on some of the videos, looks like Kevin has already stumbled across this dude before.

Very cool. He seems very familiar for some reason, though I’m not sure where I’ve seen him before. I guess no doubt youtube! :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve seen him perform once here in Kumamoto as well. I had no idea he had an online presence.

Not a problem at all~!

I had seen him in concert when I lived in Ogori-shi. Dude is super tall!
