Another post about skin care. R
I recently got a new shamisen with natural skin, sharp sounding, making my fibersen so dull suddenly. It arrived the right time as it is finally getting cooler and dryer in north Florida.
So I would like to ask if anyone have ballpark numbers on ideal humidity for natural skin shamisen? I use hygrometer to track humidity for piano, so I love to compare numbers!
I heard that 30%-50%(humidity) is good for shamisen skin. But there may be various theories about it…
Anyway the best way to protect skin from breaking is playing the shamisen everyday, I think.
That is a decently high number, although not that surprising with a natural skin. Speaking from my field of training keeping away from 60 is best. Thats the minimum for funghi and stuff to grow.
