I need a shamisen with fibersen skin but can only afford the lvl 1 tsugaru shamisen set

I’m planning to buy a cheap shamisen from ebay and then send it for a skin change to fibersen (i don’t have a shamisen), but i’m not sure if i buy a cheap shamisen, it would be a tsugaru shamisen, because it doesn’t say tsugaru anywhere.
I can get a cheap shamisen with torn skin from ebay for 100$, but i’m not sure if it works like a tsugaru shamisen.
Can somebody please tell me if i should just buy the lvl 1 set with normal boring/bad sounding skin, or buy a cheap one and send it in for a fiberskin. Thanks
(my budget is 960$)
And btw if anybody has a used tsugaru shamisen they would sell for 260$, i would like to buy it.
(the rest of the budget will be used for fiberskin and shipping US to Denmark and Denmark to US)

Well, in eBay, you will rarely find a tsugaru shamisen + fibersen that you can afford. Most of them are either nagauta or jiuta.

The lvl1 shamisen in bachido, is pretty nice. It’s a decent set. There are shops that sell tsugaru shamisen for about 500 dollars, but its quality is much lower. Also those shops are japanese.

if the cheap shamisen is definitely a futozao (fatter, bigger, tsugaru version), then getting it and then sending it for reskinning sounds like a complete bargain!

I only have a level 1 shamisen (admittedly with the sawari installed), and the number one irritation is the quality of my skin. In hindsight I should have spent a bit more money on a slightly better shamisen for the skin, but I was worried I might not commit to the instrument to the level i have.

have you seen the nagauta shamisen in the used store? less than 900dollars and really good quality
