Hey everyone, I’m interested in learning how to play the shamisen. The problem that I’m having is that it is kind of an expensive hobby and I’m not really sure I want to spend all that money on something I might not really enjoy. I live in central Florida and I was wondering if somebody from this area would be willing to show me and let me try out there shamisen. I tried finding a music store that sells them so I could try it but I didn’t have any luck. Thank you for your time!

It really depends on where you look for a Shamisen, and what you are willing to get as your first instrument.
On Bachido, we sell second hand Shamisen at various price points, and in different conditions. All fully playable, with a kit of accessories with everything you need to play, and which will last.
Usually, Shamisen starts at $250, but every once in a while we have a Shamisen in the store that has had some repairs made, and could go for as low as $190.
I would recommend you to check our store, and let me know if your budget is lower than our most affordable shamsien there.
