Is it a good update?

okay so I had my Nagauta Shamisen (for 2weeks) and I recently sold it to upgrade to a “Jiuta” - Shamisen (Chuzao to speak)

I originally bought my Nagauta Shamisen set for $255.00 (the part of the skin “some edges” were re-glued) I sold it because I wanted to gain some money back to buy a $600.00 Chuzao Shamisen set (comes with a hard case, updated ivory Koma, plastic Bachi, extra strings, and the finger slip on thingy)

(on the Naguata set it came with everything listed as I explained but no hard case - just a standard soft case)

So do you think spending $600.00 for a Chuzao Shamisen set (its re-skinned) is worth it and also I want to spend $120.00 on a Tortoise Bachi “it has some bug bites” have no idea what are bug bite on the Tortoise Bachi.

I’m almost spending over 800.00 (LOL)

Sweet. If it has natural skin and ivory koma, I’d say it’s a good move!

Note: When it comes to hard tsugaru playing, you still have to be gentler on it.

I got my new Bachi. Are Tsugaru Bachi really small compare to most other Shamisen Bachi. Check out mine and tell me what you think - http://s1226.photobucket.com/albums/ee407/k13sc/?action=view&current=Bachi.jpg

The picture doesn’t seem to load. :-S

that strange. Well I could use my camera - I used my laptop camera.

Here another try - I used my camera.

Hopefully it works this time

Ah, there we go!

Nice! You are right, it is a bit smaller, width-wise. Both tsugaru bachi and nagauta bachi tend to be wider than that. But hey, if it’s easy for you to hold, then awesome! Looks like it will serve you well.

Congrats!

I was aiming mostly for the flexible part. I bought it for $120.00 (there are some scratches and a small in-scratch surface)

But comparing to the Bachi you have Kyle (I’m not sure if it’s flexible as your Bachi) (then again you paid more)
