Greetings friends
Just wondering if anyone out there has any experience using the Korg WT-30S Shamisen tuner, and if it has any significant benefits to shamisen playing over a regular guitar/bass tuner.
Thanks!

i’m pretty sure that’s the one my teacher hand and from occasionally using it it seemed just like a normal tuner that hand ‘shamisen’ presets.
I think if someone already knows the ratios between the strings there’s no point in using this specific shamisen tuner, but if it’s the same price then it can’t harm and it just lets you choose if you’re in niagari, sansagari etc. then to check all your strings. it can still just tune to a note.
I do seem to recall my teacher’s one had a metronome though, and that my friend’s korg guitar tuner didnt.
Thanks for the reply Shmoolik. My guitar tuner is currently incognitus, probably at my sister’s house, The Korg shamisen tuner is currently ¥1,917 on Amazon Japan, opposed to a few eBay sellers trying to pass them off for five times that, so I’ll probably grab it along with some traditional Japanese music CDs and DVDs in the near future!
