Kouki

Hey Guys! Just a quick question, does anyone know what the hardness of Kouki wood is on the Janka scale? If anyone knows then that’s great!

Kouki is 2940

This website has an extensive list of Janka hardness for woods. It is a bit unwieldy though.

Whoa!! Michael, you know the scientific name for kouki wood??? :open_mouth: That’s something I’ve been dying to know for years!

Kyle! I would have thought you knew about this chart. This site was linked before too.
This might change things, hm?

Oh, I’ve referred to this chart before, many times. (how I found out about ipe and other woods) However, the chart doesn’t list any wood as “kouki” :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Yeah, I noticed the chart is indexed only by botanical names. What is the botanical name for kouki?

At the bottom you can find the link to common names. Kouki is Pterocarpus santalinus.

yush i use that as one of my cross reference lists
