Looking for an online teacher

Hello

I am new to this community and I am looking for a teacher that does online lessons through FaceTime or something similar.

I don’t mind learning what I can from videos or books but I’ll be honest I am not the best at that kind of learning.

Thanks for any help regarding this.

Have you tried one of the video lessons on here? They really are excellent.

Yes, I agree they are excellent. I am not musically gifted at all so it’s difficult for me to kinda self teach with videos.

Hi there, welcome.

If you can speak Japanese (to some extent, anyway) I could get you in touch with Takuya Hamatani. He’s a seasoned instructor of min’yo, tsugaru, and okinawan sanshin.

If you can’t speak Japanese at all, I think Oyama Kouzan is still doing online lessons. He’s perfectly fluent in English.

Thank you

I can’t speak Japanese other than like thank you and excuse me simple things.

Does Oyama Kouzan have a website or a YouTube channel to get into contact with him?

Again thanks for the information

Hello
If your looking for a nagauta shamisen teacher I can suggest you my teacher. He’s fluent in English.

Beg pardon, got a little bit underwater here.

He also has a (few) youtube channels.

https://www.youtube.com/@shishido_institute is the teaching focused one, I believe.
