MAJOR BUG: No emails delivered after April 10... until now

TL;DR: So, so sorry…

Dear Bachido community,

I would like to apologize for the recent flood of old and/or irrelevant emails you may have received, and let you know why you had not received any Bachido emails in the couple weeks before that. Let me explain what happened.

As many of you know, the Heartbleed bug caused mass internet havoc around April 10. Thankfully, our server’s version of OpenSSL was unaffected, but our email delivery service recommended a password change for their service. Little did I know that this would interrupt email delivery from that point on.

When my parents finally noticed this morning that they had not received any emails from ToneWay.com (which sits on the same server) since April 10, I hopped on the server and quickly figured out what was going on. After updating the password on the server, everything was peachy.

Except, all this mail that had been sitting in the queue, ready to be delivered as soon as the issue was resolved, came rushing out into your email inboxes. AND, all messages before April 21 (or so) seem to have been lost. I did find a way to resend private messages sent in that time, however.

So, this is all quite embarrassing, and I sincerely apologize. Everything is fixed now, and the lost messages are lost forever, so there’s not much I can do at this point.

The silver lining is that our server was never affected by Heartbleed directly, so there is no need to change passwords or anything like that.

Although i didnt notice cause i hardly check that email address on file here i want to say thanks also and also for sharing a good report about this …
