I just received a set of marking stickers for shamisen~
but they don’t fit… they look like the ones from the bachido store but will not fit my minyo shamisen. its about an inch off of my current markings for my #3 and the 17 - 18 marking on the sticker hangs off the bottom of the sao past the “dip”
Anyone know what I should do with these? should I cut them up and put the markings on myself? or does anyone have a website that might have minyou shamisen stickers?
Yeah. Best thing is just get some tape, or any kind of sticker of even a highlighting marker and just mark your positions yourself! Generally Marking stickers are a bad idea for several reasons.
1.) Everyone’s Shamisen will match their visual angle differently due to height differences.
2.) Anytime you move your koma all position markings will instantly go out of sync with true pitch.
(when you mark them yourself it’s much easier to change should your decide to adjust your koma in order to vary your tone etc.)
I noticed that with the koma~ its why I keep it exactly 3 fingers from the neo now as it seems to be the best for my shamisen.
I already have tape on there at the moment it has just been looking abit ghetto if you know what I mean xD my tape job was bad.
I mainly need the tape for 10/12/14 so hopefully ill be off markings soon
