Actually, in 2012 I saw a sanshin players group from Tohoku at the さんしんの日 Festival in Yomitan, and they played very tsugaru like.
Oh really! I would’ve liked to have seen that. I bet it was awesome. I always enjoy seeing what people can do with non-standard meothds/instruments (I.e, tsugaru-ish style on sanshin, or metal on mandolin). I feel that someone possessing a vision and maybe a touch of talent can yield very tasteful and mind-blowing execution.
