New tsugaru with loose itomaki?

Hello,
I purchased a Tsugaru shamisen from another site but when I go to tune it, the itomako slide and lose the tuning. Are there any tricks I should try or will I just need to purchase new itomaki? From what I can tell, it is a mass produced model that the schools use sometimes.

Thank you!

When you’re tuning press in with a little strength the Pegs, they work with pressure, they are getting loose because of that reason, if they came with that futozao means they was set for it.

Thank you both. I will try the tips in the morning when I can make sound and update everyone.

The tips worked for 2 of the 3 pegs. The 3rd peg slips out of tune after a minute.

You might try some violin peg compound. It helps to keep the pegs under friction wile playing.
