Off to Florida!

Well, as soon as I got back, I’m off to sunny Florida to perform with the wonderful folks at Ronin Taiko and Polynesian Proud Productions!

I was lucky enough to join these fine folks last year, and am excited to be asked back!

If anyone is in the Florida area and wants to see a fantastic taiko show and say hello, check this out! - Morikami Presents Ronin Taiko & Polynesian Proud Productions (Nov. 21 & 22) Tickets, Delray Beach | Eventbrite

Only thing I’m anxious about is I’ll be taking the whole shamisen as a carryon. I’m hoping I won’t have to explain the bachi and that whole thing…

Anyhow, if all goes well, I will be back in 9 days! I’ll try to be on here and share some pictures when I can.

Everyone, bachi on!!!

Only thing I’m anxious about is I’ll be taking the whole shamisen as a carryon. I’m hoping I won’t have to explain the bachi and that whole thing…

Honestly I wouldn’t trust leaving something as valuable as a shamisen to the baggage handlers anyways. Just tell the security dudes the bachi is some kind of ninja weapon

I did manage to get the day off, so I will be seeing you there assuming I don’t get lost or have car trouble.

Hey Cody! I’m here at the airport. Security went fine! They did take a long time scanning it. I got so nervous! But he just had to do the radiation swab thing, didn’t even check the bachi.

Whoop! Boarding starts. Off I go! Looking forward to meeting you!

A while back I flew to Japan Fest in Atlanta and ended up buying a bonsai tree, which I had to stuff into my carry on luggage. I nervously glanced over at the security guard as he stared at my bag going by with the obvious outline of a tree in it. He looked at me and said “Don’t worry. We’re looking for bombs, not trees.”

Safe travels! Bon Voyage!

Haha >He looked at me and said “Don’t worry. We’re looking for bombs, not trees.”

stylish tags on those suitcases . . .

Cody: Nice! That’s a great story.

BH: You know it!

At LAX for another hour (4 hours in total)

Things going well! Yesterday assisted the Wadaiko Academy (students of Ronin Taiko) with making platforms for the taiko players (and potentially myself?) to stand on while performing. They are really nice folks!

Then this morning, took care of some Bachido business with the nudist on me lap.

Off to play at a wedding! And away I go!

After a great rehearsal yesterday, I took care of some Bachido business with the help of Anudist!

that cat is the most adorable thing! My Preciousssss …

By the way, Kyle, what’s his name? or … is it Anudist - as in Anubis, but since he’s hairless … Who’s cat is he?

Isn’t he! Probably the most lovable cats I’ve ever met. I’m normally not a big fan of cats. One moment they like you, the next moment they won’t give you the time of day with their eyes. Anyhow, this feline is quite an exception.

Yes, his name is Anudist, play on words.

okay, so I am officially dead of cuteness. After "SQUEEEE!!"ing for the entire video, I keeled over right after writing this note. Too much cuteness!

Just bought my tickets!

Cody: Woot!! Thursday or Friday?

The view from my bedroom, and my two friends for tonight!

Thursday.

Awesome! See you tomorrow, homie! Will have the blog camera ready.

At LAX, headed back home. Wow, has been a very awesome week and two amazing concerts. My thanks to Ronin Taiko, the Wadaiko Academy, Polynesian Proud Productions and Conrad Itchener!

We managed to get a bit of relaxing in yesterday. After unloading everything, we headed out to see the fabulous mermaid show which Bachido / Ronin Taiko member Medusirena Marina runs at the Wreck Bar! Ka-Pow!
