I recently moved house and upon reassembling my shamisen the string height feels all wrong and uneven.
I think the neck is not fitting correctly, causing the tenjin to be a little higher. the photo kind of demonstrates it.

Hi Luke. In the first picture it is not so obvious. The second link asks me to connect to google drive and doesn’t open the picture… Can you check, pls ?
It’s hard to see but i don’t think there is something wrong… Maybe the botom of the hatomune could fit better but I´m not really sure…

It’s possible that the nakago had separated from the sao, and so the sao is tilting up from string tension. If you’re noticing the string height suddenly being off or high, I think that would definitely be the cause.
