Rosewood shamisen

I’m looking at buying an antique Rosewood shamisen and repairing it.

Is Rosewood actually a rarity in shamisen construction, and if I can buy this item for $100 plus $15 shipping, would anyone who knows shamisen consider this a good price?

It has no strings, and one skin needs replacing, though I will likely have both replaced.

Hi Michael

Rosewood is definitely a very good choice and the price shown can’t be beaten. Of course the skin replacement will take the biggest part what costs concern.
Please show us your restored shamisen when finished!
